I'm 42 and don't know what I want to be when I grow up yet! In the meantime, I'm mother of 11 yo girl, and 5 yo boy, married and work at home as a proofreader and database manager. Home is in the Fens, a flat and brooding landscape in East Anglia, UK. Home itself is still evolving as we've been here only 2 years and has needed a LOT of TLC. So, I don't get enough time to do the things I love - reading, creating, cooking, gardening... If I had to describe my style, I'd say colourful, eclectic, vintage, bohemian. I love old photographs of real dead people, old people's stories, old sheds, secret gardens, windows & doors, roses, handmade wooden things, gypsy lore/caravans, hedges, trees, witchery, winter, velvet, crystals, tea not coffee, beer not lager, old not new, silver not gold, moon not sun. Looking forward to connecting with people I'd never meet from places I'd never get to!
Love listening to music - dirty guitar and/or singing like you mean it most important criteria. Really enjoy music full of singer's soul. Favourite bands include (in no special order) Red Hot Chilis, Nirvana, Led Zep, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Faithless, The White Stripes, Scissor Sisters, Portishead, Stiff Little Fingers, Moby, The Cranberries, Kate Bush, Massive Attack, The Animals, The The, Sister of Mercy.... that's enough for now!
I love children's literature, and collect old copies of children's books. Recently enjoyed His Dark Materials trilogy. Adult books - nowadays I read fast paced thrillers, psychological suspense, detective novels - anything which doesn't take too much concentration. Authors include Lee Childs, Eisler, Deaver etc. If I've more time (!!) I enjoy Jean Auel, Sarah Waters, Anne Rice, Edith Wharton, Thomas Hardy, Mary Webb. Also love reading recipe books (I collect those), gardening books, how-it-was-in-the-old-days-books and stories of the pioneers.
Not a movies buff. Really enjoyed The Company of Wolves, LOTR, Billy Elliott, most low-budget English films, Pirates of the Caribbean.
OK - here's the sad bit. I really enjoy 'reality TV'. Bring on Big Brother, house re-vamp programmes, Supernanny, The Apprentice, How to look good naked, I love them all!
Enjoy making ATCs, altered art, rubber stamping, creative cooking (I don't like to follow recipes too closely), painting/decorating. Would like time to do much more... Favourite images include pears, snowflakes, dandelions, ravens, trees, doors, windows, hares, moons...
Favourite colours - green (not lime) - darker shades, deep red, violet, sepia, silver, dark gold, blues, greys. Not orange, yellow. Dislikes - cute, cartoon, Disney, plastic, dolphins, monkeys, clowns, neon, modern, clowns (I know, I really hate them!), monkeys (and them!!). However, if it's an emergency, my daughter would appreciate Hello Kitty etc, and my son (can't leave him out!) loves pirates, cars, football, insects - all boy stuff really).
Things I love: vintage little domestic things; anything handmade (not cutesy though please!); craft items - inks, stamps, fibres, beads, fabric scraps, ribbons; old black and white photos of people (especially weddings); magazines - homes, interiors, crafting; vintage business stationery/ledgers/accounts etc; recipes; single earrings (beads, silver, metal); keys, lockets, hinges, hooks; Christmas decorations - folk/handmade or vintage; scented tealights (not fruity or chocolate); spiritual/magical/witchy items (not Halloweeny!); paint charts; catalogues; travel brochures. Phew - thanks for reading this far!!!

HI, Just checking to see if you had received the trims I sent in the Trim swap. They were mailed on December 27, 2007. Let me know please.
Hey, I noticed you haven't sent the handmade envelopes yet, they were due to be sent a week ago. I got an email from the host today, so I just wanted to check into this and see where they might be? Have you already sent?
Thanks, Kassrose
I joined the gravestone rubbing swap, we can go out together for a cemetery foray! :oD
