I work in publishing, slowly rebuilding my bank account so I can quit my job to concentrate full-time on my PhD on the spy genre, abjection and nothingness. I wrote my MA on James Bond and his re-oedipalisation, 'cos I'm cool like that.
I've been knitting on and off since I was four (mostly off, with a burst of inspiration and yearning every couple of years), and then I turned nineteen and became possessed by the pursuit of yarny goods. That was eight years ago and the infatuation with slow craft continues.
My favourite colours incude the rich and the bold, but occasionally a delicate hue will blow me away. I think I prefer semi-solids, but that doesn't explain why I constantly turn to interesting colourways. I love knitting with natural fibres and trying out new yarns.
I am partial to locally produced things of all kinds. I enjoy ripping things apart to put them back together.
I love cooking and baking and everything to do with it! I'm more of a coffee person, but on those cold winter nights nothing beats a pot of gently brewing tea.
Please note that I AM ALLERGIC TO EGG. I'm also vegetarian and so do not eat gelatine of any variety - which does mean I sometimes have to get creative and read the ingredients of things before buying them! Just so you know.
You can find me on Ravelry as erqsome.
Whimsies and oddities, like Joanna Newsom, Mars Volta, Belle and Sebastian, Charlie Porter, Artie Shaw, Melba Liston, Arcade Fire. I've got a thing about 60s Japanese hula and French pop, too.

Knitty, knitty! I love painting and making things with groovy fabric, but my heart belongs to knitting.
I recently discovered felting soaps. Have you tried it yet? It's awesome!

May the wind always be at your back and the road rise up to meet you...
Hey! Your store bough/hand made package will go out tomorrow! Enjoy!
Haha, I didn't get to bake with the chocolate you sent. I scarfed it down the second I got off the computer.
Actually, I lied. I scarfed it down the second I finished typing your note. I'm not made of stone! It was delicious!
Thanks for joining the recycled ornament swap. Hope you enjoy your ornaments! Happy swapping!
