Hello! I am Rachel and I am from England. I live in a small village with my husband and our two year old son. I love the peace and quiet of the country life and being able to get out and enjoy nature whenever I want.
I have a degree in archaeology and I work in a house which is over 450 years old so you can probably tell from that that I am interested in all things history and heritage!
I also love arts and crafts. In my spare time I love crafting. My favorite craft is knitting. I love to knit with hand dyed yarn. I spin too, and like to dye my own yarn either with natural materials or with acid dyes.
Because I am a crafter, I love handmade items, so if you make me something yourself you can be guaranteed I will love it and appreciate it. If a swap states that some items must be store bought, but you would rather make them, please go ahead, I will love it so much more if it is made by hand.
I love reading good books. I am not to worried about genre, but I like them to be well written. I do especially like contemporary fiction and fantasy though. I tend not to read 'real' books’ at the moment as I prefer to listen to audio books while I knit.
I love food! I like baking and cooking. Chocolate, biscuits and cake are my favorites- I have a sweet tooth! I like drinking herbal tea as I can't tolerate too much caffeine so I tend to avoid it, I do love all tea and coffee though, I just have to drink it weak if it is caffeinated.
I love nature, the natural world and natural things. I like birds, trees, flowers, wildlife but also coastal landscapes, the sea and sea life, especially whales.
I am a C of E Christian. However, I am also interested in other religions and systems of belief. I think the world would be a better place if we could all get along and respect each other.
I have been away from Swap-bot for a while as I have been busy with my little boy, but I am keen to get back into things now he is nearly two.
I am always open to private swaps, especially if they are craft or art related so PM me if you want to arrange something.
