I am a librarian. I currently live in Miami, Florida.
In case there's some kind of clothing involved: I'm 5'4"/ 64 in./162.56 cm tall; usually wear size medium/large (12/14 US), size 7.5 US shoe, and ring size 5.
LIKES:
General: books, movies, different cultures and languages, art, anime, claymation (particularly old cheesy christmas specials), music, junk food (mostly sweet stuff), b movies, sudoku, kawaii stuff (sanrio, san-x, morning glory), engrish, stickers, animals, handmade things, drawing, origami, recipes, stationery, makeup, mix cds, e-mail/ pen pals, people-watching, magazines, fruit scents, video games, environmentalism, feminism, steampunk.
Patterns/images: stars, calico, polka dots, candy stripes, cupcakes, ice cream, cherry blossoms, little people with wings (fairies/pixies/angels), cartoony skulls, robots.
Colors: robin's egg blue, pink, black, green, red, yellow, orange...
DISLIKES:
The combination of purple with red or orange, snakes, arachnids, swiss cheese, watermelon, black licorice, chocolate with peanut butter, the taste of strawberries (especially with banana), soy (the aftertaste shudder), houndstooth print, animal print on anything other than animals, sexism, and R. Kelly... not necessarily in that order.
ALLERGIES: Listed at bottom of profile.
A little bit of everything, but mostly rock/indie. Some favorites are Bloc Party, OK Go, Keane, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Edith Piaf, Snow Patrol, Stars, France Gall, and Girl in a Coma.
Amelie, Lost in Translation, Spirited Away, The Fall, Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Bride, Shaolin Soccer, Mirrormask, Stardust, Nightmare Before Christmas, Emma, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Saving Grace, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Benny & Joon, Harold and Maude, Some Like It Hot, Pygmalion, Labyrinth, the Wallace and Grommit movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Harry Potter movies, Alice in Wonderland... list could go on forever. I watch movies for escapism, so I tend not to like movies that would stress me out, like horror, suspense, or depressing dramas.
Firefly, Merlin, Poirot, Mad Men, Food Revolution, Man v. Food, Downton Abbey, cooking shows, lots of different Britcoms, Globetrekker, Gilmore Girls, Clean House, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Supernatural, Arrested Development, The Lost Room, Invader Zim, Daria... lots of cancelled shows. ):
To receive: Anything! But particularly stuff I can't make myself like knitted/crocheted/felted things.
To make: Loom crafts, origami, simple beaded/knotted jewelry, candles, stationery, greeting cards, reconstructed t-shirts, collage, very simple handsewn things, anything with clay, papier mache, and baked goodies.
Pride and Prejudice (my favorite book), Stardust, Pygmalion, As I Lay Dying, The Red Dwarf series, The Hitchhiker's Guide series, The Bourne series, The Harry Potter series, Dracula. I'm a sucker for anything Agatha Christie, Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, Neil Gaiman... and if I ever 'grow out of' Dr. Seuss or fairytales I'll be a very sad person. This is another list that could go on forever, so I'll just end it here. See: http://www.goodreads.com/profile/nebulablue
