Comment: Hi, Chris, thanks for adding your little short story reviews booklet. Is that a zine? I need to give that a try. We had planned to move somewhere about 1/2 way between our kids to be closer to grandchildren, but we don't have any yet!!!!! My daughter and hubby are intentionly without children, but my son is engaged and has always talked about having wife and family. But we have no idea where they will be living. The are both food science "nerds" and self-made chefs (always nice food when they are around. But he is in southern Wisconsin with a job he really likes; Mary is in New Jersey at a job she'd be glad to leave behind for department morale and other "people created" problems. They don't want to live there anyway because of the high cost of living. So, all I can do is wait for them to be married until she finds a job that works with his and then must give them a couple years before the hoped for grandchild(ren), I am 69 in April, so I've got to stay strong and healthy if I'm going to be able to play with them as I've been able to do with our Nate and Rissa---see my Profile to see who they are and how much like grandchildren they are. Enjoy those kiddos! I've always thought I'd like to live in Maine, but maybe it wouldn't be what I've thought ever since I was a child. PeggyO

Comment: thanks for the Amish snow storm. When I was little and we lived in MD, we used to go to PA in the fall to get damson plums for making jam. So I have seen the Amish, both there and later when we lived in Indiana. There they raise a lot of peppermint, and the smell of those fields was wonderful. Comment: Wow, this swap arrived quick! On Jan. 6th! Happy new year to you as well! I feel you on moving from the south to the north. I moved from GA to MI. A have a goofy ritual that helps me with the winter. I get a citrus &clove scented candle (or any scent you find "bright") and place it on a table. Then I fill a glass bowl with freshly fallen snow. I put the snow bowl in front of the candle. The candle represents the sun. As the snow slowly melts, I meditate for a bit on how the snow outside will melt into the water that brings Spring. The melting snow in the bowl is a reminder that it won't last forever. When there is nothing but water left in the bowl, I water my houseplant with it. This again symbolizes the snow melting into water that nourishes Spring life. Maybe this is goofy and silly, but it really helped me adjust to living in the cold white North! Good luck!

Yep, when you are the last artist, you have to start a new card for your partner. Really enjoyed your little book review magazines! Sherman Alex is one of my very favorite! I used to read the opening of that book aloud to my high school students. I made them do its book retired that includes a short reading, and I always have them a couple of examples. Usually at least a few would ask to borrow that book. I have his new one about his mom, but I haven't started it yet. I will keep these for reference--several others that look good that I've never read. And your poem! So good! I can yourself see that scene with the cars facing each other down. Perfect ending-- a "hopeful sound." I assure YA novels and picture books. Have you ever seen one called 17 Kings and 42 Elephants? It's a gorgeous book, done with colorful batik and a bouncing rhyming rhythm. I'll stop there. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Comment: Loved the little Halloween card tucked inside. :) You will LOVE Savannah! My husband and I love to go there. I can't think of too many places you need to stay away from :) I highly recommend eating at Paula Deen's place, the food is so good. I am a huge Paula Dean fan, try to cook her recipes and all but if anything go because it is touristy. She has a new place open too but I've not been there yet...more seafood dishes. I love walking the city. So many places to take photos. Of course there is River Street that is a must. You will have so much fun. It is a great little place to meet up with girlfriends. Enjoy!!! Comment: Well crap... googled letterboxing and just looked at images and it looks like something I could easily become addicted to! Off to research more! Oh! And, Great card! I always think of lighthouses as being in warm sunny places, fun to see some with snow. If you do many trips to see lighthouses look into getting a Lighthouse Passport so you can collect stamps from the lighthouses you go see!
