Response: I have only visited Hudson Valley a few times but would love to return for fall. We’ve been to West Point and Sleepy Hollow (Irving’s home Sunnyside). If I won lotto, I’d move there not a beach or city.

Response: Oh, pig pickin' cake, cornflake candy, and bourban balls are popular southern dessetts. Whoopie pies are popular in New England and with the Amish. Butter tarts are Canadian, and the others I found in my adventures on Pinterest. A quick google search will get you the recipes. Sopapilla cheesecake is my favorite, but cornflake candy is a close second.

Comment: Thank you for this cool postcard! You asked for book recommendations: The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles, and The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway. These were both very interesting to me, because I’ve never thought about what happens to libraries and its books in a war-torn city. The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Richardson was another one I found interesting, because I’d never heard about the packhorse library program, and I’d never heard about the blue-skinned people of Kentucky. Do you see a theme here? I like books about books! Lol
