I don't know if you've ever done "soul collage" work, but I participated in a soul collage ATC swap once and came up with a card very similar to this one, with the perspective of someone looking at the earth from outside it. Never did figure out what that said about me... :) The hatted ladies on the ticket are great, too. Thanks, Mark!

Comment: Very very very cool cards! Great collage work. Really love the colors on both-- the warm brights on the Asian card, and the blue, orange and red combo with the goldfish and dice. (Love the pencils and "6" on the outside card, too.) I have to agree with your idea about the ink blot tests...my cards often seem to reflect my mood or what I'm thinking about that particular week...

Comment: LOVE the goldfish one! one of my favorite images is goldfish! Both are great and thanks for hosting the 8! I use acrylic paint from Walmart and my fingers on the background. While its still wet, I sprinkle glitter on it. after that, Its what ever looks good with that card. Thanks again for the sixes!

(Though to be honest, the couple on the "sweet" card look a little off-kilter themselves... which is a good thing!) :) As always, love the stamp work on the envelope, especially the pen nib and the queen on the back...if you should happen to be my partner when we get to the Queen of Hearts, don't be surprised to see her "repurposed" on a card... :)

I've never been to SF but was in LA for a few weeks earlier this year, and to quote George Takei "OH MY!" No - really it was wonderful. I hope that you dont mind if I slip one or two onto my cards. the images are so great, I almost cant resist! I love what happens to them in the post and they become "used" images to recycle. Response: Thank you...you are more than welcome to use any of the stamped images. I mainly use them on envelopes and some cards. I am learning some new techniques with rubber stamps and may start using them on ATCs and APCs.

Response: Thanks...I've been collecting rubber stamps for years and always check out stores that have them. It is amazing to me that there is such a limited selection in San Francisco stores. I picked up the lock stamp at a garage sale. I haven't really perused the internet for stamps tho.

I like the imagery you used, and how you incorporated the number "4" with the yearbook pics and buttonholes... with these APC swaps, I've been trying really hard to incorporate some aspect of the number or letter of each suit into my work, and have been kinda disappointed to see that most folks aren't, at least with the cards I've gotten so far... it's nice to receive a card from someone who thinks the same way I do! :) Hope to swap again sometime!

Comment: Hi Mark, great collage! It's really vibrant and 'in your face', the whole thing really pops, I love it. My personal preference is fibre/textiles rather than paper, but this is so good, very well put together and nicely balanced it definitely deserves a heart. Shame you don't have a blog, I'd like to see more of your work, and how you get your inspiration. I was in San Fran in July, love that place ....and thought you might like to know...the collage had lifted off the backing in places, as well as some of the collage elements, it's a shame if you do all that good work then have it spoilt by not staying stuck down.
