Response: Oh, I'm just happy you like her...and do have fun making your own version of a literary doll! I know it can be really inspiring to have some bits and pieces to play around with as a 'riff' on a theme. Hugs from Korea!
Response: It was a fun swap to do and great for the Kitkat to participate in as well! Enjoy...
Response: Wow, wonderful! I'm so glad you liked her - had a lot of fun making her and regretted that I didn't photograph her before sending off. Appreciate the rating! Hugs, J
Response: This was a fun swap. Really enjoyed putting it together. Hope you'll be inspired to create!
Response: I do love the Wunderkammer theme and wanted to create an ATC that looked like an actual little cabinet of treasures. Glad you liked it!
Response: She is STILL lovin' on her ami - it came to Canada with us for the summer - so I'm glad you feel equally loved and spoiled! And any time you feel like making a daddy and baby unicorn ami to complete the family ...that would make a wonderful Christmas surprise... :)
Response: She was a lot of fun to make. I deliberately kept the necktie light and the wire bail large, so that if you found her too large for a pendant she could become a faery tree or Christmas tree ornament. Thank you for rating ...and for the heart!
Response: Well, I hope it'll be inspiring and that you can at least bring yourself to use some of the pieces! I know that feeling when you want to hoard your pretties, but challenge yourself to incorporate the bits, first in things you will keep and then in art to trade. :) Enjoy!
Response: (happy smile) J'adore le items Parisienne, and even here in Korea it's not too tricky to find themed goodies. If you felt as if you were shopping in little stores, then I'm completely delighted!
Response: I LURVES my dishcloths and really have to make an effort to actually USE them and get them dirty! I know, that's what they are for, and they work wonderfully, but it's so hard to do it the first time! Perfect colours, lovely textures. (Did I tell you I'm saving the scrubbies for coasters?) Thank YOU!
Response: Oooh, you just made my day with that great and detailed comment! That paperclay is frustrating to work with (soft, doesn't hold detail well compared to sculpy) but it IS light and strong. I had fun making it for you - and the odd numbers are a design principle of mine as well - comes from Asian floral design originally! As for the earrings - if you would seriously wear a pair of mini leaves each with their own wire wrap and single green jewel, I would totally make them. Pierced?
Response: Happy happy happiness! It was so much fun to pick out those things for you. It's easy to get a lot of this kawaii stuff, but so difficult to get things like Tim Holz or vintage style over here - which is why I like doing private swaps that focus on local strengths and/or handmade goodies. Can't wait to see my box come in!
Response: Oh, I'm so reassured - I felt a bit insecure that it didn't totally fit the description, but everyone who has seen these little boxes LOVES them - and I'm glad you did. May your zeppelin never break down!
Response: Glad it was yummy! I'm always happy to send things that represent Korean culture. Let me know what you particularly liked or didn't and I'll be happy to pick out another box in the future. Oh, and I shared the earrings with my friend - she wore her pair to church the NEXT day! :)
Response: Delighted that you liked everything so much! It was fun putting it together for you. Hugs from over the ocean,
Judith
Response: When you hate to part with something, isn't that a good sign that your friends will like it? :) Very happy that you enjoy it so much - that makes my day. Hugs,
Judith
Response: I hoped you'd like the block especially - it was so much fun to make and distress for you. Unfortunately I never photographed it before it went in the mail! Could you send me a pic of it 'in situ' on your shelf? Would love that!
Response: So happy it arrived quickly and that you were pleased with it! :D
Response: It was a heavy package for the owls, but anything for Harry! So delighted you liked it.
Response: Happy you received it, liked it, and rated for it! And many thanks for the heart...
Response: (wriggles happily in her computer chair) Then I'm glad glad glad! She was not easy to make, but enjoyable...and hard to part with. Aren't those the best?
Hugs, Judith
Response: Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I had a lot of fun doing it (and multimedia assemblage IS my specialty) so I hope you'll appreciate it for a long time to come.
Response: I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for rating.
Response: Hippity-hop to the bunny shop / to buy a bag of candy.... (but not chocolate m&ms....) So happy you liked it! But don't try to distract me: the Alice package is still going to make its way through the rabbit hole to you as well...
Response: Thanks for rating, and glad you enjoyed the design!
Response: I'm so glad you appreciated it as it was meant! Yes, those beasts (and plants and people) are all from our own imaginations, in a very thoroughly populated fantasy land. If you say the letters as the first part of the 'rhyme', all of the pages will scan and rhyme properly, by the way! Hugs from Santharia,
Judith
Response: Hah, thought you might! Next time we swap, do ask for some more things for yourself. I had a lot of fun putting that together and was delighted to actually find as much Cinna-stuff as I did. Hugs,
Judith
Response: Thank you for rating - and for commenting! I really appreciate constructive comments, even more than hearts. Hugs from Korea!
Response: Thank you for rating, and glad you liked it!
Response: Thank you for rating, Maria! I hope you didn't feel nagged by my message; just wanted to make sure my swap got there, and my sympathy is with you and your family. Real life is always more important!
Response: I can't believe it got there so fast! So happy that you liked the sewing kit - I LOVED trying to imagine myself into the world and head of this formerly spoiled princess as she tries to pull together some sort of new life, just to get enough to eat.... and I could envision her carefully pulling threads from the hem of the single court dress she wears, now ragged and stained, to wrap around bits of twig to create her own small kit... Hugs,
Judith
Response: I am delighted to know that it arrived in good time - and even more delighted that you loved the package so much. I always aim to spoil my partners, and it sounds like you feel spoiled... :)
Hugs from Korea,
Judith
Response: Yeah, I didn't have to do too much work for THAT picture! He is adorable.... xoxo
Response: (grins happily) So glad you liked it! Perhaps it will become a new avatar of yours somewhere on line... :)
Response: Glad it finally got there! Thank you for rating and for the generous heart.
Hugs from Korea,
Judith
Response: I enjoy spoiling the people I swap with, so I'm glad you think it was generous :) The calligraphy pages are from a reproduction 'manual' which I got from my friend's antique store (she runs a Chinese/Korean furniture warehouse) and parcel out bit by bit for my crafts and swaps. Hope you'll enjoy using it all!
Response: Oh, good! I just got your in as well, and really enjoyed the thought you put into choosing the various papers - just my style and so nicely 'curated' :) Thanks again for trading with me!
Response: That was one of my more daring stamps, and I didn't use an eraser for it, either - I wouldn't trust the material not to crumble in those little details, like the eyes and lips! I love my carving block but can't get them here, so am portioning it out piece by piece for really special stamps.... Glad you liked the result!
Response: Yay! You liked it! It was a lot of fun putting that together (and yes, Jetoy Choo Choo kitties are much-loved and appreciated by my daughter as well....) You did say you liked clovers, I believe, so I was chuffed to find that tape.
Hugs, and thanks for the heart!
Judith
Response: What? You put all that money into sending me an international comment and there's NO COMMENT? That's it, I am SO complaining to our host. Er, wait....isn't that Jai...? Never mind, I can see I'll have to deal with this myself. I'm sending you a virtual rotten carrot for your profile! :D (Wasn't this the most FUN swap in ages?)
Response: And a good thing too, because I have serious allergies and would give you a total 0 for a scented comment! Are you sure there isn't any cat hair on it? Because you know when you let your kitty type, we can tell.....
.
Ditto - laughter keeps the doctor at bay!
Response: (sigh) Try sending all the way from South Korea. You do know we're the most technologically advanced country in the world, right? My, that broadband eats up the monthly paycheck....
:D Wasn't this the most fun?
Response: Can't resist vintage! Hope it will inspire you to do something creative someday....
Response: This was a fun and simple swap, but with some very rewarding results! Thanks so much for your generous rating and heart...)
Response: Yay, yay, yay...you got them AND you love them! I admit to some very Burtonesque inspirations, from only slightly grim to poignant and macabre....but I loved the overall effect and was sorry to part with them :) Glad they will be so appreciated where they are!
Hugs,
Judith
Response: Thank you for the rating - and the heart, much appreciated! I loved your piece, with that wistful fragility yet solid masses....
Response: Oh, vintage is always fun, isn't it? I couldn't resist those solemn childish faces in the second photo. Glad you liked them too!
Response: Oh good! It makes me happy to send you stuff that you love so much. I'll let you know as soon as I get my wonderful stamps.... Hugs from Korea - Judith
Response: Aren't vintage photos awesome? Yup, I had fun with the handcolouring. Thanks for rating so fast, and for the heart!
Response: So so so happy! This was, bar none, the most absolute favorite artistic swap I have ever done on this site. I truly apologize for making you wait so long for it (bad timing, just before vacation!) and promise I'm not going anywhere for Christmas. Your beautiful altered book is on permanent display in my livingroom (and the canvas in the diningroom, as I promised!) Any time you want to try this again, or swap art pieces, please let me know! A hundred hugs from
your bard, Judith
Response: Aaaaaand YOU are my hundredth heart! Thank you so much for rating and for a very special heart :) I'm glad you like the card - I enjoyed making that one as I love bird-theme tags and ATCs.
Response: Awwww, thank you for the rating, the heart AND the crown for my profile - that was a truly sweet touch. I'm glad you liked the card and the goodies; I always try to make my partners gleeful when they see a swap from me! Hugs, Judith
Response: Wow, she got there so fast! I'm very happy that you like her: she was a lot of fun to draw from scratch (and a new challenge for me as I usually use my tablet and do everything digitally :) )
Response: I received YOUR amazing journal today! I am overwhelmed with the fantastically-designed pages and the tiny treasures you so lovingly tucked in - Kath and I can't say enough about how beautiful and rich every page is! You are a darling, and I'm humbled that you'd like my far more modest offering. Hugs back from both of us,
Judith & the Kitkat
Response: You are so welcome! I hope you'll enjoy each little goodie and find use for it in your arts. Hugs,
J
Response: (giggles happily) I always hope for that sort of feeling - it's so nice to know you've spoiled someone! (I'm sure you know that feeling - I loved your package....) AND yours was my 95th heart, so I'm just about to make that 'benchmark' as well - thank you!
Response: Oh, you darling! What a sweet way to start my day, with that sort of affirmation.... I'm glad that you not only liked the artpiece but were inspired by it - to me that is the essence of swapping art! Hugs from the bard!
Response: That 'paper lace' is peel and stick, if you can believe that! If you are careful, you can use both the sticker side AND the shiny plasticized 'waste', which is just as lacy and pretty - just use a good glue. I think I picked it up in Japan, but the Daiso 100Y/1000W stores here (I mean in Korea) might also have some. I'm so glad you loved your baggie and will trade with you anytime - hugs from the bard!
Response: It's probably at my mom's place already - I'll be there next week and will be sure to let you know asap. I'm sure it will be wonderful and I'm so looking forward to having some crafting stuff to work with this summer vacation!
Hugs,
J
Response: Happy happiness! I just had a feeling about the lavender.... and I thought you would be the perfect person for that steampunk kit... in fact, one of the few people to whom I could part with it... :D Kath is thrilled to get her own feedback and hopes Victoria will like using her own stash goodies as well. And I'll be happy to share my secret for making those dino eggs - some basic chemistry is involved which your daughter is sure to love as well! (evil grin)
Response: (wriggles in contentment) I had SO much fun putting those bags together, and 'Nature Lass' was one of my personal favorites. Glad it could go to you, and hope you'll use and enjoy everything! XO from the Bard
Response: Can't wait - I'm the privileged one to be able to get treats from you, I know - if you sent it to my mom's address (in Canada) I'll be there by next weekend and will let you know ASAP. Very happy that you liked the themed baggie!
Response: YES! (jumps up and down happily) I will be sure to tell my K-Pop that her ATC tag was so appreciated - she will glow! I'm so delighted that I could spoil YOU this time. Hugs from - ooops, from Canada atm (so good to be with family for the summer)....
Response: I'm so happy you liked the package and that I guessed right about the colour theme :) I'm almost at my hundredth '5' rating (and collecting hearts along with them!) so thank you for number 96! Again, I loved trading with you (the Alice fabric and origami was fantastic) and will happily set up another swap in the fall after I get back from vacation.
hugs,Judith
Response: Thank you for letting me know you got and enjoyed it, and for rating!
Response: Yay! I'm always happy to have a chance to share my love for Asia, and Korea in particular. If you liked it and feel spoiled, I can sit here with a big smile. Hugs from Korea,
Judith
Response: What a way to start my Monday morning! I love when people get such a rush out of my packages, and I KNEW you were going to love this one... so happy that you love it so much. I'm eagerly waiting on yours, and I'm sure it will be great... XO till later, J
Response: Had fun putting it together for you, so I'm very happy that you liked what I chose! Enjoy it and use it,
Hugs,
Judith
Response: Yay, it got there in good time! The wings are my own little trick, but I don't mind sharing... fill a ziplock bag with ice water (MUST be very cold or you just melt the bag in the next step) and use a low-melt glue gun to create your shapes. You can do free-hand or put a template on the counter UNDER the bag to follow (especially good for patterns that have to be symmetrical, like wings!). The glue chills and peels off almost instantly. You can then spraypaint, etc. as you like!
Response: I'll have to see if I can track down another roll of that deco tape for you then! I grabbed it off the rack at the Kyobo bookstore's crafty section last winter, and haven't seen it lately, but you never know.... I'm sure they have some new postal-theme rolls though...
Response: Absolutely! She has a good home, I see... I hope you don't mind if I make her available as a classic tabbed paper doll on my webpage as some point? She was so much fun to draw from scratch and especially to try to recreate the movie's dresses for, I know others will love her too.
Response: Wow, she got there fast! I'm so tickled that you love her - I grinned through the whole process of making her... Feel free to reposition those pins to destroy resentment, deflate bad juju, and generally express any frustration as necessary :)
Response: Oh, dear! I'll have to make sure the next installment gets taped more securely, as I think we're doing a book-size next time. I'm so glad you enjoyed the cards; it was inspiring to choose and make them for you!
Response: Thanks for rating, and I'm very happy that you liked the card itself so much. It actually wasn't a huge stretch as my regular art media is made up of a lot of recycled/repurposed/trash :) so more of a fun project than a challenge...was enjoyable to do!
Response: I'm certain you 'fascinated' more than one teacher peering from a window or other parent dropping off a child! And who knows, perhaps some kids will be inspired as well by your daring? Way to spread the glory of steampunk and the joy of handmade art! I was so happy to be making it for you... <3
Response: (claps hands delightedly) I figured you would appreciate the extra effort! I had so much fun writing the letter in 'Oggian' style - channeling Nanny seems to come rather effortlessly, worryingly enough. Do check out the cookbook, which I own and love!
Response: Wow, that got there in good time! I'll hope your stamps arrive as quickly - I'm so looking forward to a number of projects I have in mind. Happy that you liked the goodies - it's always fun for me to put together an Asiana envie!
Hugs,
Judith
Response: Thrilled you're thrilled! I love when I get it right and my friends enjoy the things I pick out for them. I especially appreciated the personal note with more detail - to me that is one of the best things about getting a swap to its home - those personal reactions and the enjoyment other people get. Happiness and hugs!
Judith
Response: Who doesn't love foreign coins? I figured they were a safe bet... :) Hope you enjoy using the container: it's the perfect size to corral your pinking scissors or pencil crayons.
Hugs,
Judith
Response: Glad you got it and enjoyed it! Blessings, J
Response: Aren't the base pieces lovely? I've always liked the Korean wood combs and brushes, and they are so easy to decoupage! I'm glad the colours worked out - I literally had only ONE serviette in the theme, but it was just enough. Remember, the vintage lace can come off the puff if you want to use it as a doily underneath! Hugs from the bard XO
Response: (smooches and huggies) Any time you need a few more, let me know - I'm saving all mine to take to work and show off for those special papers! My theme for this semester is going to be nature, so my desk environment has to support and reinforce that. Yes, I have the artsiest cubicle in the office.... surprised?
Response: Happiness and jubilation! This is going to be a completely amazing swap - so thank YOU for having the idea and then sharing it with me! Do send me any other directives or suggestions you have (like, can I use a few of the punched holes around the torso to add embellishments) and let's decide what sort of time frame we'd like!
Response: (giggles) thought people might appreciate those two - if I'd put in Shia there'd really be 'something for all ages'.. Glad you liked the zine; it was so much fun to create!
Response: (jumps up and down happily) I knew knew knew you would love the things, and I hope they came at a good time. May the heart tick long, the brooch adorn your artsy hat or coat lapel, and the journal inspire you to self-expression. I can't wait till yours comes in! (tries to slow down her pulse)
Response: Huggles! Hoping you have a happy valen-time, however you spend it... and so glad you liked the ATC! It was fun to make for you.
Response: She flew over the seas to you on her little wren wings, a ripple of music in her spirit - Papagena will dance for you forever! Hugs, Judith
Response: I'm glad you appreciated them - it always teaches me something when I go back into the word. :) Hugs from Korea,
Judith
Response: Can't wait to get the other zines and drool over your choices! Happy you liked everything - swap anytime... Hugs from the Bard!
Response: It was wonderful to be able to be so connected - by words that are so ancient and yet so relevant to our needs of today - by words written faithfully down by men inspired by faith - and, of course, by that shared faith. God is indeed working in my life to bless me, after a season of struggle and scarceness - may he be present overwhelmingly in your life as well!
Response: (bites her lip and looks shyly happy) I am SO glad you love it. At least one of the stickers was custom-made, and I had so much fun layering and designing the rest to make a real 'work of sticker art'. Smooches from Korea,
Judith
Response: Just as I'd hoped - I'm sure I'll be doing the same, as many of my hearthrobs are from older works of fiction, and many literary - while I'm sure the younger zine-authors will have chosen more contemporary hunks for me to discover!
Response: Yayness and rejoicing! It still always amazes me when packages get there, all the way over the sea - and I'm always delighted when people love and appreciate the things I choose for them. So glad you liked it all!
Hugs from the bard....
Response: So happy it arrived safely, and that you like it! Hope it'll 'match' with the other ones you get.... Hugs, Judith
Response: (looks warily at her fellow buccaneer) What do you mean you got carried away? Last time *I* got carried away he was tall, dark, and reasonably handsome...and you don't want to know what ensued.... I hope you didn't spend too much on me, and if you did, save some for another swap! :)
Response: (Hugs herself happily) I so enjoy sending things that are exotic to others - something from my 'adopted' country that you can enjoy and appreciate - it's such a rush when you can be inspired by different craft items and things that may help you to see in a new light!
Hugs from over the water... Judith
Response: Hah, indeed? I'm delighted to hear that (I have a young'un in MY household who 'helps' me open my swaps and loves to pick goodies out for HER stash....) and next time I'll know to put something in for him specially. I'm further delighted that you're loving your package and going to be enjoying using the things I picked out - isn't it a wonderful emotional boost when we 'get it right'? Big hugs, Judith
Response: Aaaaaahhhhhh! (shrieks in delight) It DIDN'T take long at all!
(Didn't you just love that envelope? I literally snatched two off the shelf and wish I'd bought more.... ) and I knew, knew, knew that the mirror was right for you and the hairclip just wanted to go with it. I'm so happy you love them, so affirmed as a person, and inspired as an artist - thank you so much for your generous, detailed comment (and rating and heart!) Hugs, Judith
Response: About time it got to you - but I suppose that's the price we pay for being in such an exotic location, eh? :) I'm happy it did arrive, and in good condition - even happier that you like the fun surprises. I enjoyed picking out individual mini 'curiosities' and still regret that I couldn't fit in a cow molar or vampyre blood. No sense of humor, those customs agents!
Response: Wow, wonderful! Yes, both I and my daughter would be up for a private swap, though February is going to be very busy for me (going back to work, have to head to Japan to get my visa, new apartment, etc.). Keep a mental note and we'll get in touch!
Response: Oooooh, she got there on those fragile little wings! If you like the style and want any help making more, please feel free to message me for instructions/assistance. So glad you like her, and thank you for the generous heart!
Response: (claps hands delightedly) I hoped you'd like the little ATC! It was so perfectly themed for you.... and yup, I tried to put some effort into finding papers and stickers you'd like. Happy you did. Hugs from Korea, Judith
Response: Happy you liked them! Thank you for the rating, comment and heart. Also, though the images are 'layered', sometimes flat ATCs just look 'flat' - feel free to add a gem or brad or glitter or some inking around the edges to embellish any of them, if you like - up to you!
Response: Thank you - likewise!
Response: Ooooh, what a way to start my day, with that sort of awesome affirmation! I'm thrilled you liked it - it seemed to fit your personality and I truly enjoyed making it 'for you'. Smooch hug, as my daughter likes to say.... and swap with ya anytime...
Response: You sweetie, you didn't have to give a heart for a modified email swap, but I truly appreciate it! I had a lot of fun choosing the different quotes and pictures, and I'm so glad you enjoyed them.
* "The greatest healing therapy is friendship and love.†Hubert Humphrey, 38th US VP*
Response: Oh, I'm so happy! Thank you for your wonderful affirmation - needed that tonight :D - and I'm glad you had as much fun taking out each little piece as I did putting them in. Don't you love our coinage? Hugs from Korea,
Judith
Response: I'm glad it finally arrived! And thank you for your comment, which I'm going to paste here because a) I need to tidy up my mailbox and b) I find it inspiring and motivational to read over the various thank-yous when I need a 'swap-boost'!
*"...The things you sent are fun, interesting, beautiful, aesthetically surprising, as I had hoped they would be...."*
Response: I always think a quality product looks even better with a bit of setting off :) so I try to put even my ATCs in some 'context'. Thank you for rating, for the heart and comment, and I'm very happy that you enjoyed both the card and the goodies! Hugs,
Judith
Response: Aaaaaaand.....another happy swapper, another great way to start my day. I'm tickled pink (sorry, deliberate pun there) that you love them - I had so much fun trying to customize them and work in your preferred theme/colour palette! Are they going up on the wall of your bakery too? :)
Response: I hope that they were the sort of thing you wanted! If you run out and need more, you know whom to contact now, right?
Who ya gonna call? GHOSTBU...er, I mean, MASTERBARD! :)
Response: You got it, you loved it, I'm happy! = you're most welcome
(curtseys gracefully)
Let me know when the next musician is planned!
Response: Ooooh, it got there in time! :) I hope nothing was deformed by its squashy journey: they made me repack it all at the post office into one of THEIR boxes and I was terrified I'd have to move to the next size up and have stuff rattling around (not to mention raising your hope for a giant box containing an inflatable robot maid, or some such thing)... anyhow, I'm so happy you liked it. Here's a wish for your spaces both physical and spiritual to be refreshed in the New Year!
Response: Thank you so much for your comment, your rating, AND the heart! I never mind if people take the time to think about what they would like to say and express themselves so sweetly - the appreciation nurtures both me and my artistic energy... :) I hope we'll meet again, perhaps in a mutual group? Hugs, Judith
Response: Thank you! I shall read more carefully next time - or sign up for no-size-spec-zine swaps :) Appreciate your flexibility, your kind comment, and the heart - my morning has just brightened up considerably.
Response: I'm so pleased! Thank you for your generosity about letting me resend - it gave me a chance to truly personalize the one piece. I'm holding onto that promise for my life as well!
Response: Oh, thank you! Those sorts of positive comments are even better than hearts - I'm glad you liked it, because I had so much fun designing the mini envelope right into the card and then tucking a note in as well! How to get the most out of your ATC space, eh? I'll be happy to do private swaps after the holidays - let me know.
Response: (jumps up and down happily) You got it! You loved it! I'm happy!
This so makes up for my first flake (I've given up on the Paper Scraps - {rolls eyes} which I had to rate for the other morning and which depressed me the rest of the day. Now, on the other hand, I'll be glowing and happy with positive energy. I hope you'll post some projects when you're done!
Hugs from over the water - Judith
Response: I thought you'd appreciate the newspaper - I don't read Korean, but I speak enough to get by day-to-day. Most Koreans are proud of their English and want to practise with 'a foreigner', so it's not often a problem. I'm so glad you loved the tag - I really enjoyed embellishing her, and it's great how quickly it got to you. Let me know about private swap ideas in the New Year!
Hugs, Judy
Response: Oooh, lucky! Yes, I'm intrigued enough to think about a faux postage project using some of the Prester John images - a sort of alternate reality in which the kingdom survives up into Victorian times.... it may or may not work, but I'm going to have a try at it.. :)
Glad you liked the zine, and thank you so much for the heart as well!
Response: It arrived! Thanks for rating and letting me know - I still get anxious when stuff has to be mailed so far around the world. I probably made the envie, as I generally use actual playing cards for my ATCs and customize them to the recipient, though (blush) I don't recall which exact one I sent in this swap. At any rate, I'm happy you liked it!
Response: (chuckles) I thought that might catch my fellow Craft-ers fancy - it was a great deal of fun to research and write, and could've been a paper if I'd put less graphics and more detail in .... Anyhow, I'm honoured that you liked it - my first zine ever!
Response: Great, glad they got there and that you appreciated them. I had a lot of fun designing two cards to make a 'spread' that would look good together but still have their own distinctive 'gender' - and of course, it was fun to use actual fashion-related supplies!
Response: Whut, no comment? :D Seriously, thanks so much for the rating - and the heart! This was my first-ever zine and while it was labour-intensive, it was so much fun. I'm also a teacher/artist/writer and enjoyed your profile (Kahlo! Van Gogh! long skirts! collage!) Hopefully we'll be in more swaps together - till then, a hug from the East and the bard, Judith
Response: Awesome; appreciate your generous and prompt rating and even more, knowing that you liked it. Hope you'll have fun mixing and matching pieces to put together your own 'shabby chic' flower brooch as well!
Hugs from over the water,
Judith
Response: LOL! So happy you love her - she turned out so cute, didn't she? And I'm happy about the yarn coming in! (I find these sorts of swaps so much more 'rewarding' than the big 'buy me something off Etsy' types where it's basically just shopping for a stranger. This way I get to know someone far more individually.) My postal outlet on campus here doesn't even blink now when they see me walking in with all kinds of strange things to go out to Denmark or Brazil or Canada by now.... even unwrapped piggies! Hugs from Korea!
Response: How exciting! Katherine got her envelope today and was completely blown away by it (and a good thing too, because otherwise she would've been insanely jealous of all my mail that came in!) She sat on the floor positively gloating over her goodies and kept making little remarks to herself about them (see your rating!) I promised myself I would only do art swaps, not buying swaps, but this was so worth it to see the happiness on her face and to let her get 'stash' like Mom. Thank you again for making both of us so joyful tonight!
Response: (grins happily) I couldn't resist. It was fun to use those little sewing/fashion details - and I love using pattern tissue to soften and blend collages anyhow - so it seemed like a natural extension. Hugs from over the ocean,
Judith
Response: Just remember, heavy on the garlic.... :D It's making my evening to hear so many compliments on the zine all at once (I should scroll down more often, eh?) - thank you for letting me play and getting me hooked on zines!
Response: Hey, with that kind of warm-fuzzy comment, you can rate me late and be forgiven any time! I had a lot of fun with that one and was so honoured to be invited to the group in the first place. Hope you found a good book to put it in!
Hugs, Judith
Response: Oh, I had the worst time getting it out - my printer died just before the deadline.... but it turned out the way I wanted it finally, and I'm so happy you liked it. Thanks for the rating and the generous heart! XO from Korea...
Response: It's so exciting for me to get a rating & comment that lets me know a) my art arrived and b) the other person liked it! I'm glad you loved it - though tedious to produce, it was fun to write and research. Hugs, Judy
Response: Happy you liked it, and hope the collage arrived in good shape - I hate to laminate them, even though I know it would protect the elements - it simply destroys texture!... And thank you for both the comment and the heart!
Response: Yay, it arrived in good time! And I'm glad that you loved the papers - I really enjoyed picking out things that might be unusual but that you'd still enjoy based on profile clues. Hugs from the Bard!
Response: Oh, you've made my evening! (Home in bed, feverish, but dragged myself to the computer :P ) I'm glad the envelope got there so quickly, and thank you for such a glowing response (now I'm glowing too, but not because of the temperature.... )
Response: Awesome! I always make sure to ask them to put 'REAL' stamps on so that people get that extra little exotic touch from Korea, not just a postal rubber stamp... I'm glad you liked the package - I get a kick out of choosing things that North American swappers don't have easy or inexpensive access to...isn't that part of the fun? :)
Response: Yay, it arrived! I hoped you might particularly enjoy the design/poem: one of the things I like the most about swapping here is the fun in reading people's profiles and trying to create something specifically for them - it's so satisfying. Thank you for the rating - and heart!
Response: Oh, I'm glad you liked it! I had a lot of fun making the postcards for this, and I tried to customize them just a bit to each sendee. Hugs, Judy
Response: Good, it got through! I enjoyed making the postcard, and I'm glad it even earned a heart from you. Still waiting for ANYthing in return (sigh) - perhaps this week things will start to come in.
Response: Wow, that comment made MY day! I'm so delighted that you loved it, because I did put a lot of thought into trying to guess what you'd like - it's so nice to be right...but nicer to make someone else so happy. :) Heaps of hugs along with it,
Judith
Response: Oh yay, it finally got there! I'm still waiting for all of my swaps to come home to roost...
Glad you loved it, because I had so much fun putting it together for you. Hugs, Judith
Response: Thanks for rating! I had a lot of fun trying to make an 'all-metal' ATC, or at least challenge myself not to use my usual paper items. Hope it will look good in your collection.
Response: Yay! At some point I hope to host a kid's swap - not just stuff for our children, but art they create traded for and by them. Glad she liked the stickers - hugs from the bard!
Response: Oh, thank you for rating, and I'm happy that it came through in good shape - I hate to laminate my collages but worry about their sturdiness!
Regards from the bard,
Judith
Response: So glad you liked it! Can't wait for your package to come through (don't worry, I rate the day I get stuff into the house, so you'll know when it does arrive...)....
Response: Oh, that's good to know. I love making my own postcards but worry a bit about how they'll hold up in the mail. Yours was created from a cardboard cup holder take-out box, from a Korean coffee franchise, btw! Glad you liked it.
Response: (blows a kiss) Oooh, thank you, and I'm glad you appreciated it. I always try to check profiles and guess at what folks might like :)
Response: Thanks for rating, Denise, and glad you liked it!
Response: *jumps up and down happily* So glad I got to send you something, and very happy that you like it! Profiles are awesome, aren't they?
I'm never going to join another of the 'just buy something' swaps - it's way more fun to make something with love and care FOR someone!
Hugs back,
Judy
Response: Ooops! My first swap ever - you'd think I'd have been more careful. However, you guessed right - and thanks so much for an awesome rate to start off with!
