Comment: Debbie, thanks for your holiday postcard--I am found of the modernized (in terms of art) version of a nativity scene. I have a splendid one that my grandma had, made by my mother in about 1966 or 67, when she was doing ceramic classes. It is very vintage style and I'm so happy to have it. Mom gave it to me years ago after she'd had it for a few years after my grandmother died. Then she handed it down to me as their house was small and I had lots of room at that time. It "lives" every December on top of my upright grand piano that was made in 1913! Given enough space, I'd collect small and medium size nativity scenes; however, we don't have a bit of space to spare. I hope your Christmas was filled with happy memories and that the new year will bring you health, happiness, and many good days to remember in scrapbooks or other memory keeping crafts! Have a great 2018!

Comment: What a lovely postcard!!! I've never been to Dorset, but is does look beautiful!!! I love the thatched cottages and all the beautiful flowers. The narrow roads, not so much! They are a nightmare to drive on, on the opposite side of the road not less! Especially for someone used to the wide American roads!!! Thankfully, my brother-in-law did all the driving and I was able to lounge in the back seat!!!

I did notice that this was postmarked Saturday 22nd and you marked sent on Thursday the 20th but I do know sometimes the mail boxes can be picked up late-I guess that's what happened.
Response: I am so glad that arrived, I was just starting to make another one. I did post on the 20th. It may have been after the last post on the Thursday but I would have thought then it would be postmarked Friday so cant explain why it was postmarked Saturday.

I make cheese scones now & again but I've never thought of putting marmite in them :) I could have used the pie recipe on Monday - we had leftover ham from Sunday!! I had a laugh at the minty bolognaise story - we often have happenings like that here, like the time Tom forgot to get limes for the salmon so mixed tangerine in with the chilli and garlic. It was unusual, but not unpleasant....
