Comment: Thank you for the cool bomber card. I'll never forget the time a B-2 Stealth Bomber did a fly-over at my university's football game. I was working outside and no one knew about it and when it flew over I loudly exclaimed "Holy f***!" It was pretty much amazing! And terrifying.

Response: We were definitely wishing for a cooler day. We were warned at the trail head to not go too far by the Park Rangers. We went about a quarter mile and turned back to go play in the creek.

Comment: You get a heart for sending me a card from Astoria, OR. I LOVE Astoria. Not only is it beautiful, but, as you pointed out, one of my absolute favorite movies was filmed there. My aunt and uncle visited Astoria several years ago (I've never been) and they came back with pictures, which they showed me. Upon seeing the pictures I went "OMG THAT'S MIKEY'S HOUSE!!!!!" and they had no idea what I was talking about...of course I had to fulled educate them on all things Goonies. :) Thank you so much!

Response: She got some on the front of the card I sent you for the 5 Partners: April 2011 but I was able to get it off with rubbing alcohol. I tried rubbing alcohol on the orange marks the PO puts on the cards on the Russian Ruble card I got, and it took that off too.

Comment: Thanks for the card! For such a young canyon, the erosion IS remarkable per the PC legend. It seems like the ground is splitting itself in two rather quickly. Somebody needs to be a bandaid on that hole. Haha! When you get to hike there, I'll bet you see things in the early stages that were not noticed when other older canyons were forming centuries ago. It is little instrument that has rotating cups and the Drop zone safety officer (a person on the ground during training who lets the planes know if it is ok to let the paratroopers jump) has one he/she holds in the air to determine if wind speeds are ok for the people jumping to land on target and not drift too far away or get hurt.

Comment: Thanks for the beautiful card! If you do get to Fairbanks be sure to visit the UAF Museum of the North. I worked there while I was in college -- although it is now in a new and really wonderful building. And the Great Alaska Bowl company is another good place to visit -- you can watch the bowl carving even if you don't want to make any purchases. And the Wolf Run restaurant, which specializes in delicious homemade desserts, is gourmet without being totally out of reason price-wise. No, I don't get a rebate fromt he Chamber of Commerce, I just love Fairbanks better than anywhere else on earth! I hope you get there, and that your sister learns to tolerate the cold even if she can't enjoy it!

Comment: Thank you for the postcard of the locks in Seattle. My uncle captains a tug boat in Eureka and he's been through the locks in the Panama Canal. Yes, Cambodia is quite humid now because it's the rainy season. It's in the 90's plus high humidity. Very different from the West Coast.

Response: I print the page of partners addresses when assigned and as filling out the cards, I write which card I have sent to whom. It came in handy in your case. I sent you 4 I believe. I was worrying I would run out of different snowmen. I actually have used up 3 designs. Room to buy more when they go on sale later!

I have seen it from a distance while viewing Seattle from the Space Needle.
I have also seen Mt. McKinley from a train car window.
Response: You're welcome. It is fun to hike on Rainier but I forgot to keep applying sunscreen and the sun reflecting off the snow burns your skin pretty good!

Comment: Wow - the squares are fantastic AND you totally spoiled me with extra goodies! I loved all the fabrics you chose - the pandas are adorable, and I love the fruits. And the extras, wow! Those Pooh squares are going to make such a great Project Linus quilt! My daughter is going to love all the rest, especially the girly soccer stickers - so cool! Thank you so, so much!!
