Comment: I apologize for not rating when your swap arrived a few days ago, but I've been caught up in hurricane prep & couldn't focus on anything else. Now it's just wait & hope for the best. I'm in one of the safer parts of Florida for this one, but Milton is so big it will impact most of the state. Thank you so much for the postcards & the sunflower stickers. Comment: LOVE, LOVE this post card. Reminds me of Mad Magazine, which I lived to get a the grocery store. I also, like Cicadas. Their singing is pure summer joy for me. I used to collect their shells off trees when i was a kid. (I am now 56 and remember it well). Anyways, thank you for the post card.

It is so interesting to read about others travel experiences, where they have been and how they like to travel. I am always afraid that my luggage will disappear. Luckily it never happened before. I agree, my favourite part of travelling is to explore something new, cultures, sughts, food, nature and get in contact with locals. It is so much fun.

Comment: Thank you for the elephant card and facts. We have 2 very very senior girls at our zoo. Tembo is an African elephant. She is about 54. Cora is an Asian elephant and she is 65. Cora just lost her last tooth so now her caretakers have to grind all of her feed and hay. They live much longer when they are well taken care of than in the wild.

Comment: Thank you for your nice note and the lovely PCs. I'm going to mark Chesapeake Beach on my 'road trip' map. The next time we head south on a road trip, we can skirt Washington to the east and visit the museum. We have the Chatham RR museum near here , which is also housed in a nice old wooden station. Its history is much like your stations is... a short-line railroad getting passengers to the beach.
Response: That would wonderful if you get a chance to visit the railway museum here. We also have 2 lighthouses that are fun to visit. I need to check out the Chatham rr.

Also, February 8th to February 14th were days where the post office was closed, so the Lunar New Year holidays may have delayed the arrival of your mail. Your postage stamp is so nice and clean (they didn't cancel your stamp), but rather the postmark details ended up being on the front of your postcard instead... upside down right on the dolphin part! *O* I will eventually post a photo of your mail on Flickr so you can see what I mean :D For your reference, your postmark details say "CAPITAL DISTRICT 208" and "20 JAN 2024 PM 1 L." I have feelings for Florida, so it did bring a smile to me to surprisingly receive a postcard from there. Thanks for the lovely surprise in my mailbox today, and hope this rating brightens up your day too! ~Kiyasu

There are several USPS rubber stamped notes crossed out with black marker - maybe postage due? It's 1.2 ounces plus rigid so that's a 3-ounce letter. Then a local postmark of June 20. Comment: Thank you for the recipes. Even the envelope was beautiful. Would love to see some butterflies outside right about now. Had to deliver Meals On Wheels today and it was -8 degrees. Not much fun. Chili does sound good on this kind of day. I do like to cook with ground turkey so I think I'll have to give this a try. Also loved the tea. Had to try it right away. Thanks again.

Comment: I love this postcard thank you!!! I made zucchini bread last week. It was keto so it didn’t taste near as good as the real thing but it was ok. I have been chowing down on strawberries and blueberries all summer! They are my favorite. I’ve only been blueberry picking one time while visiting family in WI. My girls and I pick raspberries almost every year in August though.

I've planted seeds with my youngest a few weeks ago with several flowers esp for bees. The bee hotel last year was full of them! Did you know my streetname is the name of a butterfly? I enjoy working, but will look forward to being able to slow down and enjoy hobbies more. I'm sorry about your Dad's health problems. It's difficult when our parents are sick and we don't know what the future holds. Camping has always been a lot of fun to me so I hope you have a good time in Williamsburg!!
Response: Williamsburg was fun. I was fortunate because I could retire with 30 years of service at age 51. Camping is so reliaxing.

Comment: I also love to be outdoors more than indoors and I love love love insects also :D one time my father took me on vacation for 8 days to mexico to a fancy resort and every night I wanted to sleep outside in a hammock. He got upset that he was worried I would be eaten by jungle animals 🤦‍♀️🤣 and so the last night when he begged me and guilted me I finally slept in the resort. It was awful and so stifling I couldnt sleep 🤣😅🤦‍♀️. The outdoors is like home to me and I love to fall asleep listening to the ocean or the crickets or a stream bubbling... i hate listening to grackles squaking at night tho. They are obnoxious 🤣

I can't believe you actually found one called Starry Night - It HAS to be one of my absolute favorite pieces of art by Van Gogh. I have even done one in the wine and paint classes...Key Lime Colada sounds really interesting, and oddly enough, I just had Pumpkin Spice coffee yesterday - I love pumpkin anything! I was born and raised in Southern California and experienced my first time in the snow last year, hated it. Which 9 states are you missing in your journeys? Comment: Do the sharks lose their teeth all the time? What do you do with them when you find them?
Response: Sharks have several rows of teeth and do lose them. The teeth that we find are fossilized and are at least 5 million years old. We put them in jars and display them. We also find some other fossils such as porpoise teeth, skate plates and porpoise ear bones.
