I'm a teacher, too, so I understand the depth of love and respect teachers and students can have for each other and the impact those special relationships have in the lives of both people. I hope you have the opportunity to tell that young man one day what a lasting difference he has made in your life, as well. Beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it with me! :-)

I've talked many times with that young man, his, wife, and held his babies.. Years later I was recognized as "Teacher of the Year" for another school.. and he stood up and presented a speech that made me cry.. It was wonderful.. The extra paperweight has me grinning from ear to ear! Can you hear me laughing? And I bet you don't know this, but I keep a collection of river stones on my desk at school. Those are what I use exclusively for paperweights and to signify important papers that need immediate action. Guess where my "karma" stone is going? Thanks, Darlin' for knowing me so well!

Comment: Thank you for your zine. Do you really have (most of) that emergency list compiled in a closet somewhere? If so, I suggest for the torch (no. 6) you look into the wind-up ones so you don't have to worry about running out of batteries. You can get radios (no. 7) like that too. ;)
Response: Good suggestion... We have terrible tornadoes here.. and I do keep my emergency kit available for that.. In fact put it to use about 7 times last year.. (Funny,,, this past weekend, we just bought a wind-up radio..) As far as a TRUE bug out kit.... I actually feel if there was a world wide crisis.. not much would save us in the long run... Comment: I think I had as hard a time keeping to two pages (NOT!) as this swap called for in the instructions. I just couldn't stop either. The images you sent me are just wonderful. Not a one is anything I have in my collection. The fact that you stamped a few that could then be turned into cards was extremely thoughtful. It was a little while before I found the two beautiful finished ornaments in the Christmas card! The pages of stamped images just kept going on and on and on. The extra paper was the only thing that saved them from being damaged because of my lazy mail man.I had a box come the same day and he didnt want to bring the box to the door so he smashed the box enough that it would fit in the mail box with the rest of the mail. It totally ruined some ATC's I got.

I did a swing by the post office on the way to a May 1 crop, saw the plethora of fabulousness and dropped the envelope in my crop bag. And I certainly wouldn't have imagined you could eat it! (although it makes sense since it obviously matures and dries into the finished product) I liked reading your notes about each seed packet you sent. We'll see how they do up here in Minnesota! (won't be planting outside for a while) I also appreciated the craft supplies you added to the package. This was a terrific package. But I think everything was still there, as it was wrapped in tissue paper and didn't look like anything had fallen out. I got a nice crocheted potholder, a cute flower hanging mirror, some satin ribbon, some buttons, a hand painted ATC, and a dotee doll. All fabulous. The Dotee is so adorable. I love her. Comment: Wow! are the first words that come to mind. I feel like it's my birthday (again). I don't know where to start. I'll just say that this was a "SPECTACULAR!!" Package. I forgot what swap it was for while going through all this stuff. The Puzzle ATC's deserve their own swap - so very clever. I absolutely love the Angel Pin. The Folded Card is unique and really really something I'd love to learn how to do. The Triangle card is golden, I just ordered smiley faces from OTC that were way too big - these are perfect! and finally the "Hot Pad" - how did you know? I was gonna grab some of these on my next trip to the Thrift Store. Again, WOW! Thanks so much for putting together this very very special package.

The ATC puzzle is one I was thinking of posting. but it would not be easy to Angel.. so much to it. I use to sell the hot pad at a consignment store and love making them.. The angel pin was made from an old quit dating back to 1940's.. I throw nothing away..LOL!! Many Thanks for rating and ..HUGGS for the heart. I hope our paths cross again.
