Response: Wow, that got to you quickly considering our mail strikes and Malaysia's reputation for mail problems. The hearts were drawn with an embossing pen and then I used red heat-embossing powder. Thank you for the heart!

Response: I'm glad you like it all - I've had the fabric for a while, having sent the other half to a chocolatier friend, but seeing that batik that day in a store which does not usually sell it was pure chance. I was too rushed to look at other colours, but I went back the next week and bought 8 different ones for myself. As for the chocolate, you can't have too many new types to try, can you? :-)

Response: Thanks, Kaye! It is just the heaviest weight ordinary non-fusible interfacing, but I used 2 layers to stiffen it more. I don't have access to the special interfacings like Timtex or Peltex locally.

I 'drew' the Y shape by creating it as text in Corel Draw (though you could do it in a program like Word, I am sure), playing around with font size till it was right, then printed it and cut it out to form a background stencil. Then I just played with the Ys from my alphabet stamps and suitable colour ink pads, finishing with embossing powder - effective but quite simple in principle.

Response: My husband found that paper in an art shop near his workplace and realised I would love it for papercrafts. The shop owner said he had it for years and had no idea where he got it. We bought almost all his stock - 8 A4 sheets. It has an amazing hand, like cloth.

Comment: I love the ATCs you did. and never would have guessed that they were your first. The Klee quote was such a good one for me. I am insecure about my artistic ability, and this quote makes me want to take a line for a walk! I fell in love with the frog -- and green is my favorite color, so I really liked how the card made me feel. Thank you, thank you! P.S. Response: I'm glad you liked it, sara. It isn't typical of bobbin lace, but the snakes are quite easy. I don't do much lace lately, but it is nice to have an excuse to do a bit more every now and then.
