Response: Iirc I sent a magazine image of a young man in a jacket standing inside that I doodled over. I will make & resend using another image. Cant mail today as the doodles I have here are on plain paper.

Response: I can’t remember which chuck you got. The maps tofu recipe is a go-to for the half house that can still eat soy. If it was the tomato sauce-y one, dh is not changing the recipe he’s been using for years! Step 1: immersion blend canned tomatoes, step 2: hours over low heat, house smells awesome

Response: Here it's mostly a needle book, or maybe for pins & needles. Most of my needles are in their original case or stuck in a pin cushion. (I think there are only pin books in Discworld.)

She's round-eyed, & she's been "sorting" the stickers for 3 hours last night. I even asked her, "I have this request for stickers on my profile. Now, should I remove it?" She says yes. She has enough to last her 3 years, I think. Don't worry, she'll use them all. She decorates everything, from her school water bottle, to her "restaurant" ( One coffee table has been commandeered & a cooktop/ wash sink toy & all its paraphernalia sit there), & as for the reward stickers ... she plays "teacher" ... Once again, Robin, this swap is cordially appreciated, & will be 100% utilized

Response: if you run across the border and hit Costco ever, grab a pair of their big jars of "hearts" and throw them in a salad. Dealing with the fresh, raw ones are a bit daunting; it is suddenly more obvious that they are in the thistle family. You can work up to that!

Comment: What a cool idea on the up-cycled card! looks like it was a great dinner :) Oh yeah card came just fine :) we get all of our mail delivered to our store so no fear of it being stolen like the mail out to our house was :) Never know about teaching your kids to sew...my daughter is 19 and is eager to learn, the only thing is the fear of sewing her fingers :) thank you for the great card!

Comment: 3+ years and finally getting a rating to you! I do feel bad and I am embarrassed about it also. I have been on an emotional roller coaster and I am hoping that it has finally came to an end. Life is not always fair. But we will survive! A while back, I promised myself to make right all the people and ATC's I have neglected to complete. It has been bugging me, as this has never been how I usually handle things. A few days late possibly, but always completed. Response: It's been below freezing since I mailed that, back up to 65 or so, and a dusting of snow once. All is melted but we can get frost anytime until Mother's Day. Glad you liked the PC!

Comment: awwww, i love those cute little sticky notes; they're sooo adorable! haha, really made me smile. <3; i had to give you a heart because they're so sweet, I LOVE THE SEAL ONE! aww :] anyway, just a heads up: in the future i would recommend you tape up your envelope. i loved the collage and do a lot of it myself on mail art and it usually ends up getting torn in transit if you don't cover it in sellotape; part of yours was torn & the "joy" lettering on the back was hanging off :( it's happened to me in the past so now i always cover it as much as i can in clear sellotape. it makes it stronger as well. thanks again! x
Response: I usually cover mine in a layer of modge podge and they have been all arriving. Someone else told me not to cover mail art in tape as it hides the texture and reduces the art. Grumble, grumble <--- at the process, not at you!! Thank you, thank you for letting me know, and for the heart. Off to research adhesives ... Again.

Comment: Loved your "Down The Rabbit Hole" themed newsletter. I enjoyed reading your philosophies. I don't follow a norm with things of that nature either. I'd love it if you PM about Wheelock Latin. I need a Latin program for my 7th grader, and you opinions would be most helpful. Thanks for sharing. :)
Response: For a 7th grader, unless they have a really solid grammar background, I would suggest trying Latin from Lone Pine (online school) first with a more immersion sort of approach. Perhaps take "barbarian grammarian" from Lukeion this summer or in the fall.

Comment: LOVE your newsletter, and the stamps you used. Seriously, I've been talking about them for the past day and a half!
Response: I bought them online for 85% of face value; cheaper than using forever stamps. Once in a while, the time to pick them out & check my math is a bother, but rarely, and so much more fun. I assume my mail will not be mistaken for a bill or junk mail when I use them :)

Thanks for a fun swap--hope you are getting back to normal after Sandy---and that your home didn't suffer very much damage. I've been thinking of all of you since it has been so cold. I've been through a couple major hurricanes here in Houston, including Ike in 2008, but at least here we are suffering cold when without power--it's muggy and hot, but that's not as dangerous for most people as the cold would be. Have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday!
Response: 11 days with no power, but friends got power back before the coldest days so we went there. We have gas so we had hot showers and could cook on the stove burners, but just too cold. Now we have power -- and gorgeous weather! Monday the town said only 5 more homes were missing power. We were lucky. I am happily surprised at the low number of personal injuries considering

Comment: Thank you for the cute SWAPs! The tent one is adorable. Do you happen to have the instructions for the Lucky "Double Coin" Knot? I really like it and would love to try to make it.
Response: Try this URL: http://www.satincord.com/knots/doublecoinknot.htm the last step is "over, uncer, over, under,..." and then just tighten it up as desired. I sometimes find it easier to do it with 2 cords togetehr, ans sometimes make ine and send 2nd color through to "trace" it. Of course, It is easier to show than to describe!

Comment: Very cute! I love that she has "sensible shoes." To answer your question about how I attached my hanger; I kind of had a front and a back to the doll. I used a loop of ribbon and glued it between the front and back. I guess it depends on how you put the doll together, but I think you hanger will work just fine :)

I agree Singers can be a bit slower, I once had a machine that had a small button you push to reverse, it was much easier to use than the one I have now, which is a large bar you have to hold down. Comment: I liked the 3D element to the atc. The mail still managed to tare it off the surface of the ATC even after how carefully you tried to ship it. I am just gluing it back on. Thank you for being part of my swap.- I went back and gave you the heart after you went back and sent me another ATC after finding out the first came damaged. Thank you for the extra effort.

Comment: Hi Robin! I had to laugh when I read your note about having tried so many different shapes/styles before sending my mandala--I did the same thing! I was at a disadvantage being in San Francisco (at my daughter's house) to make the mandala, and they have NOTHING crafty in the house! I was FAIRLY pleased with what I sent but would have done better from home. Anyway...I really like the colors you chose for yours--love the little hand-drawn ferns. Thanks a bunch!

Response: I really went back and forth on the wings for that bird. The pictures from their pattern looked good without them. I was quite happy with the way the tail detail worked out. I think the wings would need to be similarly stitched or quilted to match.
