Response: Aw, I love the cozy grandma ghost vibes. My grandma always said she'd haunt me and be a playful pest if she could. She woke me and my ex up in the middle of the night a couple weeks after she passed. We both, in separate rooms (snorer, that one was!), sat upright in bed from a deep sleep after hearing grandma holler my name like she needed help.
Response: Aha, I see the rating now!
Response: Last time I bought them was to make beaks on Oreo turkey shaped treats I made for thanksgiving a few years ago, but I love them images of them!
Response: The "and you better fing like it" part really got me! π
Response: Would have loved an opportunity to resend before being given a one rating. Letting me know you hadn't received it in a message would've prompted a new one being sent out promptly before a negative rating.
Response: Yay! There are a few of us lurking about, and a few queer groups to join once you're more vetted. If you look at the groups I'm in on my profile (to the right of the page) you'll find em. Uncle bubs was 28 lbs of blubber when I met him, but currently at 16 pounds he was described by the vet as being an ideal weight. He's a big, loving guy. He's adored by Baby and Sissy, but Sissy is the president of the we love bubs club. If he worked, he'd be a freelance tuna inspector. Send me a message if you like me to set up a private swap for us to get more swaps under your belt.
Response: It was a naturally fallen whisker, I'd never pluck one, and I hope it does help at bingo!
Response: Bummer they were damaged. I receive so many bent corners too.
Response: I apologize for the terror. The person I received it from was delighted with it (and other similar ones). It honestly turned my stomach. The Bob's Burgers washi was purchased through Etsy - SkaroCrafts.
Response: I usually put the stamp on the outside of the plastic, but maybe I didn't this time. Sorry. Glad they didn't charge you.
Response: Yay, I love knowing it'll have another life! I used multiple adhesives, so maybe best to slit the sides open and reuse it on the envelope paper.
Response: I understand the assignment now!
Response: Glad you are familiar with Marianne North. The Huntington gardens was outdoors on that hot day, so a big challenge. I send my ma off to her day center with my Keith Haring insulated lunch bag each time.
Response: I love knowing it'll live on after carrying the swap to you, and knowing that you loved it.
Response: I love those bird stamps too!
Response: It is only in California, plus a single location in Oregon.
Response: I'm leaning hard into my 2024 mantra of "use the good stuff," especially with my favorite swappers. My friend Jenn recently posted a meme that said something like "Don't save the good things for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion." That pretty much sums it up. Glad it was a hit! ππ
Response: This was the first page I tore out to craft with, and it seems I chose the perfect recipient! It really is an absurd book. ππ
Response: I keep thinking I should've added All Over Me to the list.
Response: I travelled for work in 16 states and ak was one of them. I would take my time off while I was there to enjoy it. I went a few times 2007-2009. I'd gladly go again!
Response: Had I put the extra ounce stamp on it? Glad it arrived safely!
Response: Sweet! Hey, did you send me a naked Shenandoah park overlook/milky way PC? If so, message me!
Response: That really got there quickly! Two days! Unheard of these days...
Response: Granted I ditched school to go mid week...
Response: I'm so glad you like Stevie! I had a feeling you might. The happy mail ones came in a swap, but they can be found on Etsy. If it would feel good to thin your sticker stash, I'd gladly take some - especially the odd/weird/unusual ones. Save girly/cute/pink for someone who'd appreciate it.
Response: Hehe I haven't even marked it as sent yet as I am still putting together the 2nd partner's swap. Rapid service! Carrier picked up up after 7pm on Saturday.
Response: I handmade them, yes, and use a scoreboard and scissors (except mini ones, I use a punch board for those).
Response: No swarms yet, but yesterday I watched a giant yellow swallowtail scour the lantana. Rain again this weekend.
Response: I held onto those stickers for months until we were matched for an appropriate swap! π©·
Response: The loaded card plus an extra Amazon delivered goodie was underwhelming? Sad trombone...
Response: Here we have a few varieties of lantana that bloom at different times, so we nearly always have something to offer our pollinator friends. They love it! And the little alligator lizards have quite the habitat in the overhanging plant. Sweet pea bushes, esperanza and an avocado tree are big draws too.
Response: Ha! I'm glad it turned into something fun! Hope you're enjoying your birthday! I forgot to mention in a rating that I loved those amber stickers you used on the bday card. I've always been fascinated by amber and what it could encase.
Response: I did, track 1 sign tag with rubber stamping, pet tape, and an epoxy sticker bird.
Response: I think it is a sports team logo but not quite sure, unless you mean the cardinal lost in the punch. π΅βπ«π·
Response: Wow, 6 weeks domestic travel?! If only it could tell us about the detour! Glad it arrived.
Response: I'm going to guess that it was an envelope I received in a Make an Envelope group swap. I don't have much shimmery stuff iny stash.
Response: Describe the washi in a message and if I still have some I can send samples.
Response: I held on to that image to use with someone who'd really appreciate it. Looks like I chose well. πΈπ
Response: You'll be amazed at how simple it is! I put off trying it for a long time and now it is a go-to project for me. Tip: make sure to use your sharpest scissors to trim the plastic wrap and napkins.
Response: So glad you like it! I'm sad spooky season is past. Was a fun exchange, as I enjoyed what you sent too. Thanks for joining me.
Response: Had a blast, and a little too much heat. 89Β° He gets to spend the weekend in Palm Springs and the next in San Diego, so he'll get his fun. It was nice to end the day with a ride home from him after work. Like some very old times.
Response: Glad you like it! It was the best way to include nature images.
Response: They're Haunted Mansion post-its from Disneyland!
Response: The copper was a foil chocolate wrapper! Glad you like the pc. I like the new school bus extra ounce stamp too! I used to be a rabbit, which was also cute. I'm from a family of teachers, so the bus is extra fun for me.
Response: I'm glad you're excited about the envelopes! Seemed like the perfect thing to send you!
Response: One of my cats charged a skunk and then quickly backed down - thankfully! So sorry about your pup's skunking! Keep your mental nose in the lavender field!
Response: She's here right now, in fact! πΌβ€οΈ
Response: Oh no! Sorry it had such a rough trip!
Response: My favorite way to eat carrots, cut in any way, is lightly to steam (with plenty of crunch left) in a skillet with a lid and a dab of butter, then stir in a bit of honey and a very small amount of sriracha. Then sprinkle with sesame seeds. I could eat it every day.
Response: Glad you like it and are inspired by it! Wonderful! The leaves travelled well? I smashed them in a book for about 20 minutes but they were otherwise fresh.
Response: Much farther than I've been! Fun to hear about your travels.
Response: That one is true! The lie was that I knew Kurt Cobain, although my good friend dated his sister and babysat Bean as an infant.
Response: I knew I had to send the Monet stuff after reading your profile. I'm glad you're pleased with it!
Response: I used my phomemo sticker printer to print the sticker, yes. I wish I had a color one vs the b&w - someday!
Thank you for updating the rating and sharing your thoughts.
Response: Is Octavia still blushing? βΊοΈππ
Response: Just finished A:TLA again last night and started another round of Korra. Tell Jesk I say hi when you watch WWDITS.
Response: Fan-fucking-tastic! I'm glad you enjoyed it. ππ
Response: I'm glad you like it! I was worried it wouldn't travel well with so much texture, but it needed to swim freely (naked) anyhow!
Response: The hummingbird bag was used to hand off easter goodies to my bff, then she gave it back with other goodies for me. And now it is your envelope! My ma had picked those bags up at a cake decorating store. Enjoy your weekend! I get to spend a few hours with said bff this Sunday, getting Italian ice down the street from Disneyland. π₯°π
Response: I'm pretty sure my friend and I were the target audience for Renfield. I know it was a box office flop, but I have a feeling it will gain a cult film status eventually.
Response: It felt very you to me too, and I'm pleased you thought so too!
Response: I love that I had gnomes to send you. Perfectly timed to be matched with you.
Response: Oh, I'm likely the only person here in so cal ENJOYING the rain and overcast weather. π¨οΈπ₯°
Response: I thought you might be the person to gush about my mantis eggs to! So glad you enjoyed it!
Response: Yay! @thefairyoflostthings sent me a couple after a visit to the museum!
Response: Kinda effed up, right?! Looks like I chose well. Clowns are creepy in general, but this deep thought makes them worse.
Response: How fun! Now I'm going to go learn about them once and for all! Thank you for the great rating.
Response: I held on to that PC for a few years before sending it off to you. I really like that one!
Response: This was possibly the most fun swap I've joined. I loved every bit of it. I'm glad you're pleased with my drawing of Lucy! Give her an ear scratch from me.
Response: So fun that this arrived on international women's day!
Response: Who doesn't need a pocket Jareth?! I'm glad you're into it! Enjoy!
Response: Let me know if you want instructions on how I made them! Glad they're a hit! π¬
Response: Wow, did this just arrive?! It was sent last August!
Response: You're welcome! Do you think I should do another round of this swap? Have have several more made by someone else...do you? Drop me a message to reply.
Response: On no! So sorry I forgot swap info! Yes, this is what I sent.
Response: I just got a swap from one of my aunt's close friends, who I'd seen on my aunt's Facebook for years. Truly a small world!
Response: I swapped the blue one for a pink one I'd originally planned to send, and the sharpie pen is my favorite pen (but be careful on more slick paper, it'll smear).
Response: I very much agree about not enjoying shopping!
Response: What a delightful rating! Welcome to swap-bot, and I'm so pleased you like your swap so much! Your profile was helpful in sending things you'd like! π
Response: It was marker on watercolor paper! I was surprised at the result.
Response: I have leggings with cats all over them, so I wore those with a tunic and my Marie from Aristocats ears. It was fun.
Response: You're welcome! Gotta have envelopes large enough to fit a postcard, maybe even oversized ones!
Response: I don't think I had room to write about the weirdness of mucinex putting Halloween stickers in their packaging, that includes a snot monster...
Response: I used a printed napkin for the fall leaves background. My painting skills are improving, but not THAT much!
Response: I think they're a West coast thing, maybe a California thing, but my ma says there was/is a factory in Utah. π€·ββοΈ
Response: I'm allergic to an ingredient in most curry powders, so this green curry that uses fresh herbs is all the more a win for me. It has been a favorite since 2003! I remember the first time I had it, with a housemate, and I immediately made sure I had the recipe. I've used it with all kinds of veggies. π
Response: My cats have an outdoor enclosure, no free roaming. Fun to imagine Mister out and about.
Response: Awesome, I'll keep that in mind!
Response: It was a sample someone sent me. I get so many fun washi samples!
Response: Well done! π₯ Cap'n would be proud.
Response: That was some fun research! Glad you enjoyed it! π
Response: I'm glad you were interested enough to do some research and form an opinion! My opinion is that photography CAN BE fine art, but not all photography is fine art. Same for other mediums.
Response: I was very pleased with that sticker collage! I'd love to do a private swap - as I mentioned, I had a hard time deciding what to send you! Msg me about setting it up!
Response: I added the smallest size of dots texture after I saw you were my partner because I knew you'd appreciate it!
Response: I feel the same about my own watercolor, leaves a lot to be desired, but the more I play with it the more confident I become and the more I like the results! Keep at it!
Response: I'm pleased you liked it so much. I really thought you might! π
Response: You can reuse it! The neighbor is learning, improving over time. I like that they're attempting!
Response: Hope your return to school has been great! Be careful around all those cootiemonsters!
Response: I can set my clocks by the Disneyland fireworks finale at 9:45pm.
Response: These events felt safer in the PNW, in those past times. The public in general is often terrifying now. Prince Poppycock was apparently being a diva prior to the performance. It started late and ended early. The meet and greet was cancelled. It was loads of fun anyway! The SF Dyke march holds some fun memories for me too, and of course seeing my high school PE teacher on a float in the Long Beach parade years after I'd graduated.
Response: Your profile provided some good material to work with! I really had fun putting this swap together!
Response: Great comment, thank you π
Response: Definitely not sick of swapping with you, but was glad to have some fresh items to send your way!
Response: I don't use a template. I used to do it all on my paper cutter, but now I trim 12x12 paper to 12x8.5 and use a scor board to mark my folds, then trim flaps with scissors. Then I can use the 3.5x12 strips for other projects, or for swap info notes, or atc backgrounds to send out (I don't make ATCs). I'm a fan of the size, too! Perfect for sticker and PC swaps.
Response: Excellent! I'm so glad it was fun for you to receive because it was a blast to put together for you. Thank you for the clip!
Response: It's a phomemo printer. I'm glad you like the goodies!
Response: I appreciate the confidence boost!
Response: I really had fun putting it together for you! π
Response: Yay! And, I wonder if that's the day I ran out of my regular glue and used a thinner one...
Response: I'd been holding on to that envelope for just the right person because I loved it so very much. Looks like I chose well!
Response: Apparently one of the Bridgerton locations. Fancy!
Response: National onion day is coming up on June 27, and it sounds like you'll be ready to celebrate! π§
I love gelli plate playing and handmade PCs, so these swaps are perfect for me!
Response: Yayayayayayayay! ππͺ
Response: I'm glad you like it! I really enjoyed how this one came out.
Response: Wow, that arrived quickly! I'm glad you like it. I thought the bird was lovely, and liked the monochromatic greens too.
Response: I lucked into some old books that were begging to be torn apart, and this was a perfect use! I'm glad you noticed the encyclopedia mushrooms bit! ππ
Response: Yay, I'm glad you like it! It was some really old tissue paper my ma found in an old pile of who knows what. I liked the texture of it for printing.
Response: You're very welcome! I'm glad you're excited about this batch of goodies. I shared some if my very favorite things. π
Response: I apologize for the misspelling. I double checked it twice (read in your profile it happens often), but my brain must not have cooperated.
*Yay! I'm pleased to know I DID spell it correctly. I'm glad you like the mail. π
Response: And to you! π
Response: Yay! I'm glad you like it! I thought you might enjoy it, even if only because I challenged myself.
Response: Isn't it the neatest thing?! So much good texture and cute stuff to look at. I'm glad you like it, too.
Response: I had a feeling it was THE PC for you after reading your profile. So glad you enjoy it! That watercolor rose was so pretty - I had to re-use it!
Response: Yay! I'm glad you're excited about them! Send me a message if you'd like my dimensions for the envelopes! Then you can use the ones I sent AND make your own!
Response: Ours was from a nursery, but we didn't expect it to flower/fruit for a few more years. So excited it is flowering for the first time!
Response: I feel like I sent a fairly nice swap, and that these are pretty harsh words for what I sent. I did use washi botanical stickers on the envelopes made of paper that had imprints of leaves in them. The rest of the swap however was more involved than placing a sticker on it. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as I thought you would, but I did put effort into it.
Response: I wonder if you could use the honey topically in a safe way. Something to research.
Response: I bought 30 "local" PCs a couple days ago, and have several of them in mind for you. I'm sure we'll be matched for a swap again soon for you to receive them!
Response: πππππ
Response: This was a senders choice swap and your profile lists items I do not have, like vintage postcards and unused vintage postage. Maybe this isn't the right kind of swap for you if you don't use these kinds of items.
Response: Daiso! And, I assembled the sloth stickers into doodads for you, but the stickers did most of the work themselves.
Response: I chose the right person to send that PC to! Yay! My ma goes to rankin ranch twice a year for a quilting retreat and LOVES it! The girl in the PC is now an adult and helps run the guest ranch and livestock and market. Ma loves to take gifts to the the young ladies, and pb pretzels are a favorite!
Response: I highly recommend the gluten free lemon with blueberries π«
Response: Glad you like them! I think I forgot to include labels in that swap, and I'm sorry about that. I realized just as I sealed it up.
Response: Aww happy memories! I love it!
Response: Only available at Target!
Response: I realized I missed the multi ink colors so used pink and red to doodle a box around your name. Sorry about that!
Response: Did it work? Did you absorb the vibes?! I hope so! Thank you for the kind words.
Response: It arrived today, a little scraped up. I'm glad it got to travel and hope you've received your favorite PC back.
Response: Yay, I hope they do love the toys!

Response: I sure do miss the PNW. Never really felt like a so cal type. I also lived in Portland for 14 years after university in way northern CA - the farthest north Cal State!
Response: The only thing I use facebook for! There are a few associated groups on fb - one is called From the Heart, also Postcards From the Heart, and one for people who are adults but not yet seniors called Comfort and Joy. You can join the groups and see requests for cards or postcards. If you love to send without replies just to brighten someone's day, I highly recommend joining up! I don't use a return address so they understand there is no expectation of a reply. Sometimes there are photos of the recipients enjoying their happy mail, and I have 17 regulars I send to monthly.
I just added the links to the top of my profile.
Response: Enjoy your weekend!
Response: I'm so glad you like it. I had a lot of fun putting it together.
