You won't believe this but this isn't the first postcard I received of it and I was wondering what made it that special? The only thing that I've received over and over is the Brandenburg Gate but because I say that I have a tattoo of it and I love it! :D The first postcard I received from it I read it as The Getaway Car and I thought it was something related to Taylor Swift hahaha. Comment: Hi Katy Mike, Thank you for the postcard! I didn’t realize Texas had barrier islands. Maybe every coastal state does? Wow- December on thebeach…...sounds awful to me. Winter is my favorite season & here in central VA it’s down to sorta 3 months - December, January & February. In the 23 yrs since I’ve returned, I’ve watched winter weather dwindle from November- mid March to December- January, with February being a toss up. Last year February was primarily cool, but this year it’s been spring-like. Many many days in the 60s. I find it creepy & sad. And, no, I’m not looking forward to summer - it’s brutally hot & humid here. I spend the 6 month summer here running from air conditioned space to air conditioned space. I hate hot weather. St you’re sorry you asked! Hahaha I do love the birds on the PC - thank you!

I had a real bad go of things the last year or so and reading took a back shelf (ba dumn chhh). I have also challenged myself to read the GR list of 2023's most anticipated horror. I'm about done my first one (via Audible for my commutes to and from work), I have two coming from B&N today, and I have been approved for 9 ARCs so far via NetGalley so I have a stack to work through - yay!! You are most correct in that horror tends to be my jam, though my most fav book ever is fantasy - go figure!!

Comment: Thanks! Your ink is a really pretty color. And what kind of nib did you use? It made your writing look so fancy! My last pen bust was the TWSBI Eco, lol - I wanted a cheap broad-nib pen that I could destroy with shimmer inks. Within a few months, it had gotten the notorious barrel crack and I had gotten inky fingers. Oops!

They don't snore but they do dream quite a bit and I love watching them while they dream. One of them talks in her sleep too which I always find interesting since she doesn't bark when she's awake.

Comment: ohmygoodness, what an adorable card!! I love it!! My spooky stationery stock has grown quite a bit too! It's dangerous, isn't it? :) I don't dress up or decorate for Halloween, but I still love all the spooky stuff! I used to buy fresh cut flowers as a 'treat' every few weeks, but then we got cats, and they would get into them and make a mess, so I stopped. I miss it though - you're right, sometimes a small thing can bring joy. :) We might do pumpkins this year, we don't always. Happy Halloween!

Comment: Thank you for the BEAUTIFUL card. You put so much thought into it. Loved the nice long letter. So few people write much any more. Yes, I garden. Husband and I used to do a lot of veggies but now it's just tomatoes and flowers. Lots of flowers. I was at an estate garage sale last week and bought too much. Found a little box of OLD candy molds and in the box were 5 tiny cookie cutters. As a child I had a toy set of dishes and kettles and there were tiny cookie cutters in the set. These were the very same ones. I snatched them up so fast. I do tend to buy things I remember from my childhood. Thanks again.

I live just 60 miles south of St. Louis Yes I am a paper collector, stationery stasher and card stasher. I have lots of favorite pens and yes they are such fun to write with. My hubby has infrequent blank stare seizures so I do all the driving. We are both retired. So some days are filled with grocery shopping, errands, etc. While other days we just chill out here at home. Thursdays in particular seen to come often!! LOL Thursday is the day we set our trash out and also the day I get the local newspaper so even if i don;t get any fun mail, i always have the paper to look at. I have not joined all the CoWriMO swaps but am especially enjoying the longer letter and notecard swaps. take care Donna

I have a vintage collection I bought from a person downsizing and many are of hotels in places they travelled. I try very hard to find ways to decompress -- postcards and letters are one way for me, as is walking in the woods and -- don't laugh -- hugging trees. I really like the Ro-Biki notebook and the dot grid pages are my absolute favorite. Graph is a close second, lined is ok, but I really don't care for blank pages. I appreciate the seeds too, I have a huge herb garden and a pretty sizeable vegetable garden...but don't have St.John's Wort. Comment: Thank you so much for the postcards! I'm envious of your handwriting skills.:) It was such a treat to see the pc from Big Bend National Park. Though I've never visited, my parents both attended college in Alpine, TX in the 50s, a town that's just a little over an hour away from Big Bend. I've heard stories about it all my life, and though I spent many a summer with my grandparents in another part of the state, I never made it there. My dad (who's now almost 90) and I were just talking about it the other day, and he told me I should absolutely put Big Bend on my list of "must sees." And then I got your mail. I think I'm being told something! Thanks again!!

Comment: Thanks for the postcard! You were right- it arrived before the letter. How funny how things work like that sometime! IT is wild how fast time has passed. BC Is lovely, and victoria is like a small town and bog city all at the same time. We have a thriving multicultural food culture and it's a generally quite liberal city, but the west coast and BC have a difficult history with (and current issue as well) racism and prejudice against first nations people. And, there is a huge homeless population. Not a perfect area by a long shot, but a really interesting place to live nonetheless! Have a lovely day <3 Al

The ducks made me smile because I remember the adults in my family playing with cards like it when I was a kid. Ducks are such a classic bridge card design. :) Thank you!!

It's funny, because just today I ordered some brown Kraft envelopes on Amazon since I ran out of envelopes for my snail mail and it's going to be perfect to use the white gelly pen! I also loved the postcards you sent me, definitely my type of postcards (bright and colorful)! You have to tell me where you got those two micro washi tape! They are so adorable, where do I got more of them? Thank you for your handwritten letter, your writing is so pretty :). I can relate totally about your dogs snoring haha (sometimes it's annoying, but sometimes adorable). My dog loves to be under sunny spots too! I'm more of a pumpkin dessert type person - pumpkin pudding, pumpkin crisp bar. Honestly haven't had pumpkin chocolate chip bars, but sure sounds delicious!

Comment: HOLY CRAPMONKIES! My birthday isn't until next month, but I feel like it's today. My mouth was hanging open the whole time while my eyes feasted on each and every thing. I am obsessed with these bug stickers, esp the longhorn beetle. SQUEEEEE And the wood postcard and lenticular eyes!! and all the little cards. I love the libertad justseeds card esp bc I call my daughter Libertad sometimes (her name is Liberty). These seashell book pages are so wonderful. They reminded me of my home in the north and the lake shells that are so different than the ones down here. This "collect moments not things" button is hilariously ironic. And this old feed store pencil is COOL AS HELL. And yes, the pressed penny, I actually like the ones that turn out like this better. They remind me that mistakes happen and are still beautiful a lot of the time. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity. You really made my day and started my weekend with a smile. I feel quite special. I knew this group would be my kind of peoples. :):):) THANK YOU! Have a lovely day.

Comment: I loved this! Sorry for the late rate, I just came across it on my desk. I would do read this, if given a chance! I've been in those sorts of caves before, but not for diving. In Missouri, they turn them into cold storage for food, and I've hauled Cool Whip and frozen turkeys out of them in the past :)

I haven't heard of the ones you're reading, but I have read _The Glass Castle_. It's a good book, and I liked the movie, too. We have gone to sleeping bear dunes several times, but never took a ferry to the islands. Thank you for the extras. I use them right away in decorating an envelope

Comment: Katy Mike, One man’s trash is another’s treasure! I knew immediately it was Williamsburg, as I’ve been there many, many times. The card is tender to my heart because the long historical re-enactments such as the one depicted on the PC will be coming to an end It seems that the history attractions are no longer making money. I guess more people want to visit nearby Busch Gardens, an amusement park, or Water Country with its man-made waves and water slides. I’ll miss Colonial Williamsburg. Thanks for the card! Comment: I love love love the stickers! This year I kept decoration to a minimum, the big decorating happens at my mothers house. It okay living with no snow, we avoid the blizzards and black ice but we don't get the fun of building a snowman or snowball fights. Snow in a desert??! omg!
