I entered this swap because I had so much left over fabric from a previous art craft project and I needed to pass them along. I really liked the boho, paisley, tye dye and asian swatches alot. And wonderful artwork. How big is each piece? Do you incorporate fabric into them as well? Anyway, thanks so much for hosting...it's fun to see how many different fabrics there are in the world! I guess it also helps that we don't shop at the same fabric stores;) Take Care. B

Response: Usually ill ask who all wants to participate. We have about 6. I'll set the number of cookies so that we each get 6 of each cookie. (So about 3 doz cookies for each participant to make and take home.) Since we are teachers, I have each person bag their cookies in half dozen batches. They drop them off in my room when they get to school and stop by during their off period to pick up their batches of cookies.

My first ones were wonderful! ...until i compared them to what i am doing now! lol I ended up buying a pair of jewelers glasses and that was the difference in what i could paint. now, the space doesn't even seem tiny any more. I am sure yours are wonderful!! its fun and that is why you should keep doing it!!! I am glad you liked it!

Although I've been to beaches in Maryland, Florida, and California, too, it would either be sand from Sunset Beach in North Carolina or sand from the shores of Lake Erie - I'll see what I can find because I know I saved some from those two. I like the colors and textures and the hints of goldleaf and sparkle, especially as I haven't used the metallic sparkliness much, so this adds something special to my collection to incorporate into my ATCs/pocket letters. I enjoyed reading your lesson instructions for your altered book semester project. It seems like a fun challenge I might like to try over the winter. I was thinking of choosing a partially illustrated book for its appearance and theme and building my posts around that. Perhaps a book focusing on my gardening and/or other improvement efforts in our rental home. Anyway, thanks for sharing that and your mermaid zine with me, and the adorable paper clips will be perfect for a project I have in mind for one of my little girls. Have a nice day!

I think you did a fantastic job with the letters; in fact, you inspired me to try to carve words myself (I've never tried it, either). I have no idea how you got such fine detail in some areas. What kind of tool did you use for little spots like the eyes and the paws? Anyway, thanks again for a fantastic gift. ♥

Response: Is it because silver is worth more than nickel? I use acrylic paint and my finger and then I dust it with glitter while its wet. Its very reandom and I do a bunch at a time so what ever color you get is what you get!!!!

Comment: Thank you! The ornament you made is beautiful. Your recipe made me smile. When I was a kid, I decided to make dough ornaments one year. I had them all cut out and baked and was looking forward to painting them. My 4 year old brother found them cooling and crumbled them all into little bits. I felt crushed when I found them! That boy was such a brat when he was a baby!! We are close as adults though, so maybe I will try making dough ornaments again :)
Response: LOL! my nephew actually ATE his ornament last year and it was plastic!! He loves candy and the plastic sucker looked so real! This years ornament is a small sign that reads "regan, please dont eat the ornaments!" LOL!

Response: They arn't tarot. they are Mexican Bingo cards called Loteria. It took me awhile to figure out what you were talking about! I collect the mermaid out of each set and send the rest off into the world!
