Response: The stickers are from a book "Antiquarian sticker book." They are victorian, steam punk-y--animals, letters, etc. I got 3 volumes of these as a gift, but they are available on amazon. very fun.
Response: I remember Betsy McCall!
Response: My favorite wolf is Angua from Terry Pratchett's Disworld. Also in Good Omens, recently at tv series. A vegetarian werewolf.

Response: Yes, it's a whole book. If you're looking for weird and cool (or uncool) books of postcards: Daedalus Books, hamiltonbook, or (oddly enough) American Science and Surplus. All online but the physical catalog for American Science is a hoot. The source of all white elephant gifts.
Susan
Response: It was a fun, quick read. I'm a fan, so enjoyed the stories.
Response: The used to be. Family sold the company and now clothes are made in China. Husband used to work for BGosh.
Susan

Response: Pelicans started arriving in Wis 10 years ago when the pothole lakes in Nebraska started drying up. They are now fighting the cormorants for food. Three bald eagles fishing today! Susan
Response: Hi, I re=sent the swap. It's from an email different than my listed one--bluefiat79@yahoo.com. Thanks for letting me correct this and let me know if it doesn't show up. I'll try something else.

Response: Yes, I enjoyed "Crawdads." There were one or two things I thought were a little contrived, but overall it was a great read and she's an excellent writer. Her nonfiction book "Cry of the Kalahari" was excellent.
Susan
Response: Sorry for the mangled card--it's the only one of the batch that seems to have been eaten by the postal monster.
Susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: Yeah, the Zombies from the 60s. Great for a lot of old dudes in their 70s. There's also a contemporary group called "Here come the mummies_--a big funk band that I saw a couple of years ago that perform in mummy costume. susan
Response: A quote from a favorite movie "Compromising Positions." "I wouldn't want to eat her cole slaw!"
Response: Hi,
Our last bookstore in town shuttered its windows a couple of months ago. The mystery bookstore in Madison closed a couple of years back. I fear public libraries will not be far behind (and I say this as a retired librarian). Susan
Response: Hi,
For the relish, I used whatever nuts I have on hand--I use pecans often. For the fish,
walleye is a small freshwater pike, but I think it would be fine with perch or trout.
Susan
Response: Thanks for being so understanding (and patient).
Susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: I think so--give it a try.
Susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: Wow, I totally missed that! And I had more time and plenty of pages left in the book. I'll send you 20 more songs--all the oldies.
Susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: I worked for housing agencies for years, and I thought the author did a masterful job. One of the best books I read in a long time.
Susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: The Spam Museum is a must see--if only for the gift shop!
Susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: Eeww! I don't think I could do that if the cat were unconscious, or if I were unconscious. Not in this lifetime.
Susan
Response: The steer was found this week! He was missing for two weeks, was found on a farm in the area, no worse for wear, and returned to his owner. He could have easily wandered onto the state prison grounds or the race car track!
Response: Busted Flush" by Brad Smith got me started with his books. About a carpenter who finds what might be a voice recording of Lincoln's Gettysburg address--main character is someone who people tend to underestimate and a little humor. The Tarquin Hall books are set in India--listen to the audio--wonderful readers--sights and sounds come alive. Also humor and memorable characters. Try them!
Response: Hmmm, mystery seeds. Were those the tall phlox that I forgot to label--purple or white? Or the packet of herb seeds I got at a mystery conference? Everything is a mystery--Susan
Response: Was at a scrapbooking store in Minneaspolis and found a package of tiny little bags. Lunch bags for frogs, maybe?
susan
Response: Yup, we were the home of Oshkosh B'Gosh til the owners sold out about 10 years ago, and they all snuck out of town. Now made in China and many hard feelings left behind.
susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: Sure! Drop me a line. Would love to hear from you.
Susan
Response: Yes, there are, and many are much more insulting. I need more swaps like this to get rid of them
susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: Thanks for the good words--after having a particularly crabby customer it's nice to know not everyone has a black cloud over their head. The lions are hoping for some sunshine--will spring ever come? susan
Response: So jealous--still wearing my down parka!
susan
Response: Close--a librarian. Some days it feels like I'm back at elementary school. If I get one more question about tax forms...
susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: Right now the lions are covered with snow--we've had three storms right in a row. But they'll have on their special cat hats for Dr. Seuss birthday.
susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: I guess you did not receive the card I sent. May I send you another?
susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: Hi Maggie,
Thanks for the sympathetic ear. The holidays turned out not to be as bad as some past ones, and Christmas day with the in-laws (husband's family, not evil SIL) was pleasant. She generally doesn't show up for easter so maybe I'm good for another year.
susan
Response: Oh, sorry it hasn't arrived. I'll be happy to re-send.
